More about the TestDaF
The Test of German as a Foreign Language - TestDaF - is an international language test for anyone who already has a good knowledge of German and would like to test it. Anyone wishing to study at a German university must provide proof of sufficient language skills. This proof can be provided by taking the TestDaF. As a rule, TestDaF level 4 is sufficient for admission.
The test results are assigned to one of three levels in all four parts of the test: TestDaF level 3, 4 and 5 (TDN 3, 4 and 5).
In the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, the TestDaF levels correspond to competence levels B2 to C1.
In our TestDaF preparation courses, the central requirements of the exam are trained in the 4 language skills and a precise knowledge of the individual exam modules is acquired: Reading Comprehension, Listening Comprehension, Oral Expression, Written Expression. By successfully passing the TestDaF, you prove that you
- can identify important individual pieces of information in various short texts,
- understand details and general statements in journalistic and scientific texts that deal with scientific or socio-political issues,
- extract detailed information from everyday situations,
- follow interviews or discussions on study-related or general scientific topics,
- understand lectures on scientific topics,
- write your own well-structured and comprehensible text and put forward arguments,
- describe, summarize and compare data,
- take a well-founded position in discussions and conversations, weigh up alternatives and form hypotheses.
As part of the preparation course, a complete simulation test is also carried out so that the participants are psychologically prepared for the test in the best possible way.
